Vector Drives (Spindle)

Repair instead of replace

Most Haas amplifier and vector drive failures are repairable: blown IGBT/IPM modules after a motor or cable short, dried DC bus capacitors (low-voltage and regen faults), failed gate drives and current sensing. Our bench repairs cost a fraction of a replacement unit and every repair is load-tested against a real motor before it ships back — ask for the test video. Important: if your drive failed with a bang, have the motor and cable megger-tested before fitting ANY replacement — a surviving short kills the next unit in seconds (we do this on site in NCR).

Common symptoms we fix

  • Alarms 135–139 / axis drive faults — amplifier or motor-side short
  • Alarm 160-series / low voltage — capacitors, incoming supply
  • Vector drive faults during spindle accel — regen and bus problems
  • Blown DC bus fuse — find the short first, then repair
  • See the full Haas alarm list for code-by-code guidance

Why JJ Automation

  • Component-level repair — not board-swapping: IGBTs, gate drives, capacitors, sensing
  • Load testing on every unit before dispatch, test video on request
  • Warranty on stock units and repairs
  • Exchange option against your faulty unit
  • On-site diagnosis in NCR — we confirm drive vs motor vs cable before you spend
