The Fanuc 0i-Model F (0i-F) is the current-generation compact CNC used on a huge range of machining centres and lathes. Like the 0i-D and the 30i/31i series, it shows each alarm with a letter prefix identifying the system area. Here are the codes technicians meet most often, with causes and fixes.

Common 0i-F Alarms

PS0000 Please turn off power A parameter needing a power cycle was changed. Switch the machine OFF and ON.
PS0100 Parameter write enable PWE = 1 on the SETTING screen. Set PWE = 0 and press RESET.
PS0101 Please clear memory A parameter needing a memory clear was changed. Power on holding RESET + DELETE (back up first).
SV0401 Servo amplifier VRDY (ready) OFF Amp not ready — check DC link voltage, E-stop, amp power and the fault LED. Repair/replace the drive if faulty.
SV0410 / SV0411 Excessive position error (stop / move) Mechanical bind, overload, low gain, or amplifier/motor fault.
SV0417 Illegal digital servo parameter Servo parameters corrupted (often after battery loss). Restore from backup; replace battery A98L-0031-0025.
SV0436 Soft thermal (OVC) Overload or blocked cooling. Check cooling fans and mechanical load.
SV0445 / SV0447 Encoder soft / hard disconnect Feedback lost. Inspect the cable/connector; replace a faulty encoder.
OT0500 / OT0501 Stored stroke limit + / − exceeded Jog back inside the travel range and reset.
OH0700 Control unit overheat Check the cabinet cooling fan and ambient temperature.
APC0300 / APC0301 Reference return required / APC comms error ABS position lost after battery change. Redo zero-return; check encoder cable & battery.
