Fanuc spindle alarm codes C0, C1 and C2 mean an error occurred in the serial communication data between the CNC and the Spindle Amplifier. Fanuc's official suspects go straight to the electronics — (a) the amplifier's control PCB, (b) the CNC's serial-spindle board/module — making the C-codes the harder-edged siblings of AL-24 (which leads with noise and cabling).
Working order
- Free checks first, always: reseat the serial link at both ends, verify the cable isn't freshly bundled with power leads, and note the alarm history — C-codes mixed with AL-24/52/53 → work the link-quality checklist (cabling, shielding, routing) before any board leaves the machine.
- The amplifier's control PCB: statistically the more common electronic culprit — the serial interface stage. Swap-test if a compatible unit exists; board-level repair (same circuitry family as AL-32) or exchange.
- The CNC's serial-spindle board/module: the rarer case — suspect it when the amplifier tests clean elsewhere, or when multiple serial spindles on the same channel misbehave together.
